£52.800 p/a + benefits

Reputable housing association is looking to recruit experienced Financial Accountant to support finance team with external regulatory reporting, including VAT, NORSH and Annual Financial Reports.

Some of the requirements for the accountant role:

Prepare the statutory accounts in accordance with the Group’s timetable, taking the lead on the group’s subsidiary companies;

Assist with the preparation of the groups consolidated accounts, for both management and statutory accounts;

Support the wider business on technical accounting issues, updating the Financial Accounting team to help ensure they are kept up to date with the latest development and reporting requirements;

Assist with the modelling of new business opportunities;


The right candidate for the accountant role will have the following experience and qualifications:

Qualified member of a CCAB body (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) is essential

Sound knowledge of consolidation accounting is essential

Basic knowledge of VAT is essential, and sector specific knowledge and prior experience of completing VAT returns is highly desirable.

A track record of independent problem solving and the confidence and personal skills to liaise directly with professional service providers and senior colleagues as required.

Financial information systems experience with expert level excel skills is essential.

Experience and knowledge of specialist financial systems is desirable.

Ability to analyse, interpret and present financial information clearly and concisely.
