Exciting Opportunity for a Production Engineer in Poole!
Our client, leading manufacturer in Poole, specializing in producing mechanical devices for the Oil & Gas, Nuclear, and Marine sectors is looking to recruit a talented Production Engineer to contribute to the successful manufacture and testing of high-quality products.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Creating accurate production routes, specifying operation details, work centres, and time estimates for in-house product manufacturing.
Providing detailed manufacturing procedures and technical assistance to the production team.
Collaborating with the design engineering department to ensure efficient and cost-effective manufacturing of new products.
Working with suppliers to provide test equipment while ensuring personnel safety.
Documenting assembly processes, including test procedures, FAT documents, and welding qualification records.
Using CAM software to produce programs, tool-sheets, and set-up sheets for various CNC machines.
Selecting and implementing new cutting tools in collaboration with Manufacturing, following Lean principles.
The profile of an Ideal Candidate:
Qualified to HNC level or actively working towards completion of a similar Mechanical or Production Engineering qualification.
Sound understanding of modern manufacturing methods.
Experience in evaluating processes through capability studies and equipment reviews.
Proficient in designing jigs and fixtures using CAD (preferably 3D).
Demonstrable experience in Continuous Improvement tools and techniques.
Strong project management skills using Microsoft Office suite.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Thorough understanding and experience of quality, safety, maintenance, assembly, CNC machining and testing.
Experience in programming and setting 4/5-axis CNC machines.
Ability to produce CNC programs using CAM software.
